Everyone knows that a croissant or a pain au chocolat in France is going to be spectacular, and it’s true! But, I have to admit that the amount of delicious in an almond croissant still surprises me. Who would have thought a day old, twice baked croissant filled with almond paste and covered with almond slices and powdered sugar could be so good? Such a perfect combination of sweet almond with buttery croissant and soft inside and flaky crisp on the outside. Promise me you will try one on your next visit to France!
If France is a little too far away, making them at home couldn’t be easier and would be the perfect addition to a long weekend breakfast or brunch.
1) Take some day old croissants and dip them in sugary syrup (hello crispy crust!).
2)Cut them in half and spread on some almond paste.
3) Sprinkle with almond slices.
5)Powder with sugar and enjoy!
