My passion has always been travel. Born into a multicultural family, a love of diversity, culture, and travel was instilled in me from a young age. From my first trips to visit family in Venezuela to my life today married to an amazing Spanish man and living and working in France, travel has always played a major part of my life. With my years of experience travelling the world, living and working abroad, tasting new foods and hunting for bargains, I’ve started A Beautiful Journey to share some of my tips about the best where, what and when for your vacations – and how to make your travels, or dreams of travel, a part of your everyday.  I’ll also share anecdotes and photos from my life in France, where I’m currently learning the language and working my way through the endless patisseries, cheese and villages.

I’d love for you to join the journey! Leave a comment, share your tips or send me message if you’d like!

Bon voyage and Hasta pronto!

  1. Very cool! I’m living vicariously through your posts and pictures! I, too, was a travel bug -once upon a time, before becoming a full-time mom! I’m so proud to say I knew you when! Maybe one of these days, I’ll get back to Spain and be able to meet up with you – and show my family the beauty and culture! Xo!

  2. Hi Dianne!

I’m so glad I found your blog cause somehow I live a ‘similar’ story. I am Spanish and I felt in love with an American guy 🙂 We have been in a long distance relationship for a while but I finally moved to LA to be close to him. Life is good.
I like what I’ve seen in this blog so far. Looking forward to following your posts.

    Un abrazo!

  3. Bonjour 🙂
Just happened to run into your blog. You have got a beautiful blog running here. Loved some of your write-ups. Its very subtle . I guess I will be hanging around here a lot. 🙂 Great work. Keep blogging.

  4. Hi Dianne, I have worked as Masterchef aboard hotel barges in Bourgogne region. I would recommend visiting Auxerre between May-August. It is at its most vibrant and beautiful. Often visited by Parisians and worldwide tourists during this period, it is a great place to stay or visit. Restaurants and bars are lively and street cafés are vibrant at sundown. There is a great selection of family owned traditional Burgundy restaurants and brasseries. Fresh bread is available from 7-11 and 5-7pm generally from the several boulangeries. For an evening out try Bar Maxime next to the ‘Yonne river where in summer months, you will find a sandy beach below your feet whilst enjoying live upbeat jazz in their outdoor dining area.
For accommodation, Hotel Maxime ( not connected) has two great rooms/ suites with balconies. Amazing!
I hope this aids possible travellers.

    • Thanks for the great tips! I’m sure Auxerre is lovely in the summer with amazing chablis wine and lively summer river tourism. I’ll add your tips to my Auxerre post!

  5. What a nice change to see so many colorful photographs on this grey, cold and rainy day in New York. I’m envious of your travels. Lovely blog!
